Disruption of Supply Chains originating from China due to the Corona Virus - Opportunities for Indian Industry

As you are aware that the supply chains originating from China have been significantly disrupted globally due to the Corona virus infliction and consequent shutdown of vast segments of Chinese industry. The impact of this, which is likely to build up over time as inventories run out, would be two-fold. Firstly, it puts at risk availability of a large number of critical intermediate products and raw materials, which go into our production lines, for which we are dependent on imports from China. Disruption in their supply is likely to cause varying degrees of dislocation in production in India. Secondly, China being our third largest export market / destination, our exporters may face a slowdown in demand for these products from China, coming on top of a modest upswing in 2018 and 2019.

Government of India is supporting the collective global effort to mitigate disruption in global supply chains by increasing supplies of products where we have available capacity.
